More than ten years ago I wrote a book of film reviews called You Ain't Seen Nothin Yet: A Guide to 500 Unsung Films on Video. It was an attempt to shine the spotlight on a number of forgotten films that had slipped through the video cracks. This was still the era of VHS, when thousands of movies were accessible and the majority of overwhelmed viewers were constantly pushed towards the new releases out of desperation. Now, in the age of DVD, many films are simply no longer available in any format but improvements in picture and sound quality have been significant. This blog will attempt to bridge the gap between these two eras, drawing upon various DVD formats, cable movie stations, and even VHS to continue the effort that I began ten years ago in bringing to light certain films that are unknown to the majority of the viewing public. Each entry will include relevant production details, a capsule review, and a critique of the visual presentation as well as any bonus materials. I will begin with entries from the book updated to reflect the decade of advancement made in the medium.
